The Chaos of Stars by Kiersten White

2.0

I picked this up as it has an eyecatching cover, an intriguing title, and an author with a good YA track record. Unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations. The idea of using Egyptian gods and goddesses for a teen paranormal romance is interesting but the whiny narrator, Isadora, spends way too much of the book angsting about her family and the swoony Ry. I got confused with the Egyptian deities and could have done with a family tree or character list, though I did like Isadora's very contemporary take on the mythological stories.
