A Vow So Bold and Deadly
by Brigid Kemmerer
I really enjoyed the first book of the series. It was a fresh take on an old story and I found it compelling. The second book threw me for a whirl, but I ended up enjoying Grey and Lia Mara as the main characters.
This third book didn’t hook me quite like the others. I felt like it did a great deal of recap, reminding me of things I already knew. I also felt like I enjoyed Lia Mara and Grey’s relationship more. I hoped Harper and Rhen would really find common ground, but Rhen still feels a little insufferable.
Also, Lilith as a character was frustrating to see again. I get that she’s the antithesis of Grey, but she felt like a one-dimensional, cop-out villain.
Overall, I enjoyed the series. The end was a little anticlimactic, but still a good story.
