This book was a disappointing sequel. A lot of the elements that made the first book so good were lacking in this one. I disliked the main character for much of the book but I do think that had more to do with the writing than the actual character. About 40% into the book I definitely began skimming. I got bored of the book and where the story was attempting to take me. Honestly, if it wasn't for the first book I might have enjoyed the book a lot more than I did. I have no idea if that's a good or bad thing and I also don't know how to explain it.
I did love the character arcs and the development of different relationship both platonic and romantic, but ~especially~ romantic. And also loved the school setting and plot line. Despite my disappointments I will be picking up the third book not only because I am invested in the series but also because this book gave absolutely no closure at all.
