Benito Cereno by Herman Melville

slow-paced

3.0

I am fully aware that Herman Melville is a classic author, but this was a torture for me and if I didn't have to read it for school, I would give up on it.

The story itself is interesting and quite inspiring as well, but it would help a lot if the average sentence wouldn't be half a page long.
English also isn't my first language, so that was a bit of a struggle as well, since I had difficulty understanding some words or even sentences (but for this, I mainly blame the lack of attention because I was just falling asleep all the time)

Anyway, it is a good story, just very boringly written (imho) and I am not a fan.
