The suspense in this book, the emotions it evoked, the world building! Superb! The story sucked me right in and I didn't want to put the book down. I was transported to a fantasy world of magic, power crystals, danger, intrigue, and secrets, with twists and turns that had me thinking about the story when I wasn't reading. The book ends on a cliffhanger, as it is the first in a series, so the next one can't come soon enough!
