I have to admit I was a little disappointed with this. I think stories about wanting kids just aren't for me, especially when there are odd religious overtones to it. While this is doubted as a 'fairytale', it talks about the Virgin at Christmas and was inspired by a saint's depiction in a church so if it is a 'fairytale', it's very much a christian one, which was again just not my cup of tea. Oh well.

The illustrations were stunning though so I'm glad I read a hard copy.
