The Widow's Guide to Sex and Dating
by Carole Radziwill
ever found yourself depressed during a pandemic watching a reality show for the first time since rewatching real world boston on youtube at least six years ago (and last time you watched reality tv before that was real world new orleans in 2000? do gbbo & nailed it & guy’s grocery games count as reality tv? what genres are these? will you still be my friend knowing i actually enjoy watching guy’s grocery games?) anyways i’ve watched eleven seasons of rhony in a short span of time and feel even more morally conflicted about my media intake than ever but ya know i do like carole and would enjoy her company and appreciate her dedication to voicing this audiobook and all of her artsy name drops and literary references and nyc history lessons and i’m happy claire got a happy ending and i will absolutely read another book by her but is this good? would i recommend this? a narrative dripping in terrible stereotypes and the most boring and least compelling aspects of cis heterosexuality? only if like me you like to push the limits of what you can withstand just for the fun of it. and honestly i didn’t have the worst time.
