The Redemption
by Nikki Sloane
Ok so confession time, while everybody else was probably hating and cursing the ground Macalister Hale walked on, I was over here seriously crushing on him. He may have been painted as the villain but the whole time I hoping and wishing for him to have a book of his own somewhere down the line. I just felt in my spirit there was more to him than what he portrayed to the word. He had those moments of sweetness and vulnerability and I wanted to explore more of that. I called him and Sophia from the moment his name slipped from her lips during that conversation with Marist about how sexy he was. So you can imagine my elation when I not only discovered his book was coming but that his heroine was Sophia. In The Redemption, we get to peel back some of those intricate layers of Macalister and reveal the true man that lies beneath and I savored it all. That man was just pure delicious alpha and the little preview we got of it in the previous books was nothing compared to seeing it in it’s full glory. My oh my, the mouth on this man. Macalister lives up to every fantasy had. Sophia was just the perfect match. Don’t let the pretty face fool you because she was the type that could go toe to toe. I loved how she challenged him and did not bend to his every will. I also loved how she held him accountable. They fought so hard to let their guards down and finally become a couple without hiding behind closed doors so I would’ve loved to see more of that as opposed to only getting a little peek at the end. The epilogue left a little more to be desired. Maybe, it was written that way because we’ll see more of them in future books, which I for sure won’t complain about. That being said, I still loved every minute of this book. I’m a sucker for a good redemption story and Nikki Sloane knocked this baby out the park.
