In this intricate fantasy, two people are brought together by a singular destiny to defeat the Bane, a powerful mage who has held the Domain captive under his tyrannical rule. Iolanthe Seabourne is rumored to be the elemental mage who will free the Domain, and Prince Titus believes it is his destiny to guide her to the eventual battle. However, as their lives become inexplicably intertwined, Titus begins to wonder whether or not he will be able to use her after all. While a great novel for fantasy fans, it is so full of facts that it can become confusing for the reader to keep track of. Nonetheless, the rich history, complex characters, and engaging plot will keep the reader looking forward to the next book of the trilogy.
