Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator by Roald Dahl

1.0

Ignoring the casual Chinese racism and colonialist viewpoint with the treatment of the Oompa Loompas...which should never be ignored, but lets just say you are reading this for the children's literature history reasons like I was...this book would still more than likely get a one star rating for me because it was a slog to read (it took me nearly two months and it isn't a hard book to read!). I guess the plot was about more adventures with Willy Wonka, but I never had a strong feel on any of the characters, there wasn't any development, and it just felt like a string of "and then this happened" kind of scenes. Not great. Would not read to child....because racism.
