I had a good time with this book. I did find that the details were a little too excessive, it didn't need to be 700 pages long and could've been edited better, and I felt that the tense, tragic moments tended to pile on top of each other to the point where I started to feel a little uneasy. However, I still loved the setting of coastal South India set during the early to late 20th century and the theme of water unifying the story.
