Elizabeth Is Missing
by Emma Healey
This novel is told from the perspective of an 80-year-old woman whose memory is significantly declining, and experiencing her confusion and the frustration of those she interacts with is fascinating as well as unsettling. She is wondering where her friend Elizabeth is; she can't find her at her home. Meanwhile, she's slipping back into memories of her teen years, when her married sister Sukey disappeared, and the mystery of what happened to Sukey dovetails with the mystery of Elizabeth's whereabouts.
