I’m being so fr rn…is harper a fucking idiot? no, like, please. she’s so unrealistically naive. also, ik in the acknowledgments that the author says that the song firework by katy perry was playing in her head the whole time she wrote this but man, this book is just as cheesy as that song. the main character so terribly naive and every plot line can be seen from a mile ahead. oh! let me just get this job with 400 red flags and not read the contract! what’s the worst that can happen??? aw my boss is kinda sucky:( that’s ok because she’s a raging narcissist but she says she helps people all the time so she can’t be bad!!what?? my best friend from my old town is mad at me because I don’t spend any time with her anymore?? what?? im getting mysteriously fired even though I knew that every one else in this position also either got fired or left??? what?? my contract sucks ass?? what?? my small town parents inn is going to get shut down and im a big city girl now so i’m too far away to help them. what?? this guy who I talk to a total of 5 times in the book is going to fall in love with me?? CRAZY!! like miss girl, just be present in your own life and pay attention to the shit around you. I think this would be so much better is harper wasn’t fucking clueless.

this book wasn’t even enjoyable as a shitty little read to pass time—which is how I listened to the audio book: while driving and packing up boxes to move. it honestly just felt like the main character did the debby ryan hair tuck at the end. ugh. this whole thing was just a half baked attempt at finding self worth outside of social media without any noteworthy character development. harper grows a back bone and doesn’t sign an NDA ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ like girl….
