Another Fine Myth by Robert Lynn Asprin

Did not finish book. Stopped at 40%.
It did not capture me at all. I got about halfway in (reading it digitally so I don't have a page count) and oof. The characters read flat to me, and the jokes are very tongue in cheek. I feel like every time the characters make one, they turn at me to wink and wait for my laughter. The reader is in on the "joke", but main character Skeeve is not. An example: "We'll have to bite the bullet" "what's a bullet?"

By the time the characters got to town and we met a woman, she's described as a "trollop" on multiple occasions with 0 irony, and she's of course into both (disguised) main characters, because that's her job. Oh yeah and she almost falls out of the window and her dress because she is so into them. That's the point where I put the book down. The grating humor up to this point and then the first woman we meet being described in this manner was enough for me. I've got a lot other books waiting that I'm looking forward to.

So yeah, in short, it's old (olllld) school fantasy with those old school tropes and issues. If that's your jam and you don't mind that, go for it, but I personally think there's better stuff out there now.
