Bleak, sad, and violent; so a McCarthy book. This is my least favorite McCarthy book. I think he was trying to use a certain style to give the story its structure, but it is just not for me. Go and read Blood Meridian, it is so much better. This book probably for a prize when other have not because it is easier to read, shorter, and nihilistic.
