So much delicious character development! And quite a bit of action as well, especially compared to the first book in the series. I don't know how Abercrombie does it, but the way he writes makes me feel like I'm there with the characters - whether they're telling stories by the fire, trying to figure out who the traitor is, preparing for battle, or fighting against all odds. I'm there, I can feel the wind on my face, and the mud is ruining my clothes. I'm worried that by the time I'm done with the First Law books and stories, Joe will completely ruin other fantasy books for me.
