Joya Goffney never fails to take care of her characters. More than the young adults, this story is also about the importance of parents informing their children of what it means to have sex and its possible consequences. The mended relationship with her parents was just as heartwarming as the romance.
I especially love how Goffney writes young black men. Reggie is a source of comfort for Mo. Even though the reader does not get to hear his POV, his love for Mo is clear. I was giggling and kicking my feet when Mo and Reggie finally got together. I'm a sucker for a friends-to-lovers story.
There were times when I felt like I was reading a medical pamphlet. However, I think this story can be informative and a source of comfort for young adults. Frankly, this story is important for adults to read as well.
