Why did I wait so long to try this book? I have heard great reviews for many years and many people urged me to read it, well I finally did and I am hooked. I couldn't stop reading this book, I read it every possible moment I had free. Harry is a wizard who practices openly in Chicago. He even consults for the police department when the murder seems to be commited by people not of this world. In this case, Murphy calls him in to a scene where death couldn't of been commited by humans. As he investigates this case, the author introduces us to a character who is flawed and conflicted by who he is and how these worlds meet and collide. We are introduce to some very funny characters, Toot the fairy who has a thing for pizza and Bob who lives in a skull. The wizardy stuff is explained in a way that makes it fun to read and yet realistic.Dresden uses typical methods to deduct who the killer is and how he commited the crime. I also love the writing style, where it feels Harry is speaking directly to the reader. This is a series I will be getting read in the next few months.
