In Cold Blood by Truman Capote
3.0

AUTHOR: Truman Capote

SYNOPSIS: A fictionalized reconstruction of the murder of the Clutter family and the investigation that led to the capture, trial and execution of the killers.

COMMENTS: Like Mockingbird, this book was a bit too caught up the details of the lives of the people involved(espectially the killers) for me to really enjoy it. I wasn't captivated by the killers' personalities or perspective, although you could certainly tell where Capote's allegiance lay. Admittedly, I didn't really "finish" the book — once the killer were in custody, I was bored, so I skimmed through the last fourth of the book, uninterested in whether Perry Smith or Dick Hickock did or thought anything prior to their hanging.

STARTED: July 22, 2006
FINISHED: August 6, 2006
