The Lesbiana’s Guide to Catholic School has a lot of “cliché” YA story elements. However, it features characters you don’t always see in those types of stories. POC lesbians don’t always get this kind of novel and it’s important to tell these stories too. Cliché doesn’t mean bad.

I enjoyed reading the book and the cast of characters were all a lot of fun.
I’m really happy Yami and Bo got together and even Cesar and Jamal started to make up. Seeing Mrs. Flores accept her two queer children after all of Yami’s worry as well was also really great to see.

I do feel the book sometimes had too much going on so some topics couldn’t get the attention they maybe needed such as Cesar’s suicide attempt. But overall I had a good time reading it.
