I'm Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid

4.0

quiet, introspective, liminal and surreal in a dark, uncomfortable way that builds into terror by the end. a very unsettling atmosphere which i loved. have to watch the movie now

i will say the 'twist' is not as unexpected or shocking as i was led to believe, but i can forgive the book for that because the atmosphere and unsettling, creepy vibe of the whole book absolutely makes up for what the plot lacks. this is not an edge of your seat twisty thrillride. it's a slow build of lonely terror.
