Did not finish book. Stopped at 46%.
Where do I even begin… oh….right. Like seriously what is with the damn ellipses? I felt like I was in stop and go traffic trying to read those first few chapters and even without that, some of the sentences were so weirdly worded that half my time reading this book was trying to figure out what the hell she was trying to say.
I am a huge fantasy buff, and I get that sometimes it takes a bit for the plot to start because of world building, character introductions etc. but this was something else. I seriously think that the first 30% is just word vomit and when something finally happens it’s drown out by the 20 sentences describing how the Maiden shouldn’t have done the stuff that she’s drawn to do. I got so frustrated that by the 50% mark I just had to give up.
From what I’ve seen on Booktok, mixed reviews are very common and I am definitely a part of the, I wish I had never picked up this book, group.
