Whew šŸ„µ

I am a proud Sara Cate stan. To know me is to let me talk your ear off about her books, because itā€™s always a ~journey~. Iā€™m always surprised at how emotionally deep her books get. I know it sounds like an oxy-moron but her books are so healing in the most unexpected ways and I always end up crying at least once.
But also, the smut is indeed always smutting. šŸ¤Œ

Caleb and Briar are in a rut in their marriage, going through the motions, not communicating and completely disconnected. Until a friend of a friend who turns out to be someone from Calebā€™s past moves into their above-garage apartment and stirs up the past, and the present.

I loved the background this book delved into for all three main characters and the Goode family. It was all necessary and came together perfectly, giving more context to their angst.

This is the second book in the Goode Brothers series and the follow up to The Anti-Hero. It can be read as a standalone but Iā€™d recommend reading in order to understand the history.
