You & a Bike & a Road by Eleanor Davis

5.0

When I saw this cover, I knew I had to purchase this book.  It's so beautifully designed, and the colors are wonderful, and that yellow title??? Damn.  When I opened the pages, I discovered a beautiful illustration style, a beautiful memoir, and a beautiful book overall.

I felt myself with Eleanor every step of the way, and I just felt so incredibly inspired by her story, and by all the trials and tribulations she faced and by all the newfound friendships she made.  As she travels across mountains and deserts, and even encounters ICE-like border patrols, she sees things she's never seen before, and learns just what it means to some others to make a journey of a lifetime.

A memoir in graphic novel form is something I don't usually see, but I thought it was just such a creative way to truly get to the heart of her journey.  If any of y'all see this book around, definitely buy it or check it out--it will be so worth your time!
