I knew going into this volume that I am going to feel stuff, especially with the loss of Laxus and how he lost. It surprised me how sad I was when the consequences of Laxus’ actions unfolds with him being expelled from the guild. We see Fantasia and then we flash back to Fantasia of past years when Laxus was still so innocent. And then that sign that they do signifying that I will always be watching out for you, that made me tear up a little.
I was enjoying the tournament style and wished that there was more to that with us seeing more characters and them going against each other in friendly fire. The Fantasia bit was super enjoyable and this was actually a director’s cut with extra pages to the Fantasia part so it was cool to see that.
Of course, in this volume we get introduced to the new baddie and although it was not who I was expecting, it was ok
