Ode to a Nobody
by Caroline Brooks DuBois
When I was a child, poetry didn’t make sense to me. I didn’t understand how the lines and stanzas were decided. Capitalization and punctuation didn’t follow the rules I had been taught. I have found as an adult that novels in verse are some of my favorites to read. I love stories of survival and hope. Quinn’s story if one of those. Beautifully written in verse, DuBois’s gentle and emotional verses will make your heart ache and sing in turn.
