A sweet, hilarious little book that had me constantly laughing out loud. Catherine is so sweet and dumb in an endearing way, Henry Tilney is the easiest to like of any Austen hero, and the whole book relishes in making fun of its characters relentlessly.
It would have been a 5 star if it had stuck the landing, but unfortunately this book is the most extreme example of Austen’s worst tendency- at the end, once all the tension is built and you’ve hit the climax, she stops actually writing and just throws in a summary of what happens to resolve everything in a few pages. It’s frustratingly unsatisfying.
