This book consumed me; I think I read it in 24 hours. The pacing and exposition were at times a bit too slow and heavy, but the world building in general was excellent. Plus, the book had so much heart, and the characters were both so well realized, that I couldn't help but keep turning the pages. The ending, especially was breathtaking—it zigged whenever I expected it to zag, I had no idea what was happening, and now I find myself counting the days for the next instalment.
