Phew! Richelle Mead certainly knows how to put her characters through the mill. A LOT happens in this novel, some of which made me mad with a capital "Gaaaargh!", some of which broke my heart a little. To say anymore would be entering into spoiler territory, but suffice to say that Shadow Heir has been set up beautifully and I am eager to see Eugenie's story through to the (hopefully not bitter) end.
