Life Ceremony is a really odd little collection of short stories by Sayaka Murata all centred around, well, pretty taboo things. Death, cannibalism, making furniture out of human remains, keeping humans as pets, split personalities... The list goes on.

It's the kind of book that will make you feel very uncomfortable but also stick in your mind for a really, really long time.
