This book was my first foray into dark academia and that was a mistake. The focus of the book is less in the academia part and more on how many times the main characters can have sex.
The student-professor relationship was brought up in nearly every conversation: "But he's your teacher!" Or "I'm breaking the rules for you." We get it - forbidden romance and all that.
There were parts of the story that were mentioned in the beginning and only resolved at the end, and very fast.
I couldn't connect with the characters, and while the plot was interesting, the story focused more on the sexual relationship between the main characters than anything else.
I appreciate the author providing a warning page about what was going to happen, because the amount of sexual dominance in this book bordered on sexual assault.
This was like bad Twilight fanfiction, but a step below 50 Shades of Gray.
