Middle grade fantasy/adventure, #6 in a series.  This book takes the reader back to Enchantasia, where fairy tale former fairy tale villains have reformed and now run the Fairy Tale Reform School (FTRS) for the next generation.  As usual, Gilly Cobbler and her friends are fighting against Rumpelstiltskin and Alva in their latest plot. But the stakes are higher this time, as Rumpelstiltskin is trying to enact a curse that not only requires some blood from a fairy but will also make all of Enchantasia disappear.  Gilly and her friends set off to Shipwreck Cove, the magical mermaid island where they had sent the magic lamp for safekeeping. Hoping to get the lamp before Stiltskin does, they are too late.  Their next stop is to visit Gilly's estranged fairy grandmother to figure out what she knows about the curse.

This book is a fast-paced read, as the group of friends travels to and fro, trying to stay one step ahead of Stiltskin and his squad of recruits.  Gilly is still heartbroken that her sister Anna is among them, but tries her best to put her own feelings aside.  The visit to her grandmother brings the advice to get in touch with her own fairy instincts, and Gilly gradually learns to listen to her inner voice.  The final battle itself is appropriately long, with dramatic consequences.  This story wrapped up nicely and I am curious to see if this is the last we see of FTRS and Enchantasia.  With so much backstory on the characters and the relationships, this book would NOT be as enjoyable as a standalone.
