Oh my gosh, what a fantastic read! Absolutely brilliant.
The pacing of this book was perfect, with the secrets being revealed slowly. I just could not stop reading and my mind was racing, trying to work out what was happening.
I love the dual narrative, multi timeline telling of this story. It really shows the strength of love between mother and daughter, even with all the secrets between them. I can totally understand why Imogen raised Cate the way she did, and love how she realised her mistake in doing so. But equally recognised her father's mistakes in raising her.
I found Cate to be an utterly fascinating child. My inner psychology nerd was desperate to "study" her in some way and establish if she was a product of nature, nurture, or something in between.
I'll definitely be looking out for more books by Stephanie. If this one is anything to go by, they will be well worth the read.
