Blood Gift by Amy Lee Burgess

I enjoyed the world, lore, and characters in this book and hope to see more of it. I did find that it was more paranormal romance than urban fantasy in that the story was primarily about the romance and relationships and the world building was merely a framework.
It started out pretty gritty and there is certainly a lot of pain in the past of most of the protagonists but I did reach a point where the angst was a bit melodramatic to me rather than dramatic. Still, watching the baggage be over come was nice enough if obvious.
I'm interested in subsequent offerings to see where the world goes.
