The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager

Let me start by saying this story had me from the beginning. Loved the setting…which was basically another character. The first major plot twist was so surprising and unexpected…loved it!
(Spoiler alert… stop reading this review if you haven’t read the book)
However, the 2nd major plot twist was too far-fetched for me. If I’m going to read paranormal, I want to get a sense that’s where it’s headed from the start. Because this story felt real and 100% possible the entire time, I was frustrated by the supernatural problem and ultimate resolution. This could have taken so many other dark and “Sager-sinister” turns without the ghostly twist.
So, for that reason…I give it 3 stars.
