I was hesitant to reread this - a favorite of my childhood, would I still enjoy it today? Turns out, yes, I loved it just as much. I read along to the audiobook.....which I do not recommend. The quality of the recording is absolute garbage and it's narrated by Richard Ferrone, who is a great narrator...but considering most of the book is from Candy's pov, a young female, to me it's an odd and ill-fitting matchup. Otherwise, the illustrations and story of this series are captivating and so enjoyable.
