Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle by Amelia Nagoski, Emily Nagoski

3.5

Really enjoyed the beginning, which addressed the “closing of the stress cycle” thing. Chapter 5, which was on weight and our misconceptions about it was also great, and I appreciated the scientific studies listed in Chapter 7 underscoring the importance of sleep. The rest of the book didn’t really hit for me, and the last chapter was particularly underwhelming. Overall, I think the book presented a lot of interesting studies’ results in a readable way, but I didn’t appreciate some of the ways they were presented (such as the repetition of “patriarchy (ugh)” and the authors inventing a new proper noun every chapter)
