By far the best book of the series, Ruin and Rising smashed my expectations. Bardugo delivers action, emotion, twists, and suspense in the final installment of her Grishaverse trilogy. Considerably picking up the pace, Ruin and Rising drew me into the moment from the very beginning. There is more of the gritty darkness in this book, which I loved when reading Six of Crows. It fit the story perfectly, and added an integrity which I feel had been missing earlier on in the series. I loved the care Bardugo took in honing each characters personality in this book, and the emotional connection this enabled, making the story feel led by more than just Alina's perspective. This book is everything I love about Bardugo's writing.
