I always forget how much I love game of thrones until I read it again which just makes me even sadder that it might never get finished! I think having watched the series makes them even better to read because I can focus on all the little extra details and character stuff instead of having to pay so much attention to the plot and remember what’s happening to each character. Also, despite knowing the plot it’s still so exciting to read chapters where you know something amazing is going to happen! I think that part of the genius of GoT is having all the different perspectives throughout - I feel like it gives the feeling of the final few chapters throughout the whole book because each characters story is really condensed to the best bits.
