Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki
1.0

I'm siding with the other negative reviews. I gave my husband this book to read. He is an accountant so I thought he could sum it up rather well. He came to me after having read it and said, "Something about this book doesn't sit right with me." I know it's not necessarily that he shares the opinions of others who think it's terrible to tell your kids not to succeed in school. Nor was it any specific advice, because there is none. It's all pretty nebulous.

He managed to find the critcisms of the book presented on other Goodreaders' reviews, which I felt were valid. The author doesn't name his "Rich Dad" and many have decided he doesn't exist. Deeper penetration into the "facts" presented has yielded many uncertainties that make it impossible for me to trust any of this man's advice.

Not that I'm looking to get rich - I wanted to read the book out of naive curiosity more than anything else. Something that is left out of Kiyosaki's world view is that money doesn't buy happiness.
