The Cemetery of Untold Stories
by Julia Alvarez
Julia Alvarez's writing always speaks to the soul. The thoughts and emotions that an immigrant, even a successful immigrant, has for the home country are beautifully captured. I fell in love with the question of what happens to untold stories - your stories, my stories, our grandmoms stories. So I loved the buildup of this novel. It is written in three sections and each section moves across timelines as different stories unfold. I raced through the first two sections and couldn't stop reading - I couldn't wrap my head around the third section though.
