*DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T READ POWERLESS*
I had trouble with the whole premise of this book. While the story was cute, it was rushed, having to fit into a small novella. Of course, I didn't get invested in Adena's story at all, because I knew where it was going, so what was the point? Plus, her story didn't add much background to the overarching story - unless Mak is going to be in Reckless - otherwise, Powerful's only purpose was to make you read a doomed almost-love story. However, if Mak is going to be a main character moving forward, and this is more about his origin story, then I'm onboard and can't wait to see what happens with him and when he meets Paedyn.
