The Girl in The Tower by Katherine Arden
5.0
I didn’t think that I would love these characters more than I already did but Arden has proved me wrong.
Having read her previous book, The Bear and the Nightingale, I knew what I was in for, or so I thought. Picking up right after the events of the first, we find Vasya choosing a different path than what the world has laid out for her and in doing so, we read as she becomes a force unto her own and changes her fate in ways that only time can tell.
Written with beautiful prose, smart pacing, strong dialogue, and fierce characters Arden has built further on top of the traits and world building from the first book and has enhanced it further and in doing so has made me long for more in the way few authors have done.
I wanted to take my time reading this but again, I devoured it like the delicious treat it was and am officially having a book hangover.
