This was a fun book. It took a bit to get into the tone, but I enjoyed it. The serious parts were jarring, and really slowed the pace down. I feel they could have been shorter, especially the last mess-up. I didn't really feel the book played that right. The prince made a really weird play that would literally hurt his rule as king. And the king not being able to stop it made no sense. It really pulled me out of the story, it was unrealistic. It felt like a fake, weirdly contrived plot point.
