The scenes with the Ents and the Uruk Hai are some of the best scenes in the series. The middle of the book does drag quite a bit, but toward the end we get some of the best Samwise content in the series and one of the most harrowing and exciting scenes in the lair of the Shelob. Amazing work of escapist fantasy!
