So where do I start? I loved this book SO MUCH. As someone who didn’t read for such a long time, everything about this book was so special to me. I loved the writing so much.

 Josh:
My favorite unhinged golden retriever. God...literal boyfriend goals! I can excuse the stalking only because he never really did anything remotely bad (maybe the camera...but he wasn't being a creep!). I really adored how he always tried to do sweet things for Aly (bringing her snacks, driving her home, looking out for her, the flowers, the new cameras). He's a king that thrives on consent so I love that for him. He was funny, he has a lot of trauma that made me sad but I really loved him.

 Aly:
A literal badass! I loved her she was really smart and funny. She's a cat mom so obviously could relate heavy. She also likes Masktok, which was very, VERY, relatable. She could stick up for herself whether it be against a rapist or her estranged family. She protects what she loves and I honestly saw a lot of myself in her. I love how she got to be happy in the end.

(Honorable mentions: Fred and Maud- The best cat children)

Overall, Josh and Aly were really well written. I do love how human they were, especially when Josh accidentally killed someone. I love their relationship and overall I thought they were very relatable.  They were so sweet to each other, AHHHHHH. I really love how Josh got her to finally choose herself for once and Aly got him to see he wasn't his dad (mutual healing). The ending too? I actually cried, I felt like I got proposed to. They’re my favorite cat parents who honestly healed each other and I love them so much.

This book was funny, spicy, sweet, thrilling, and had a lot of memorable lines. Everything lined up, the chapters flowed nicely. It's a ride I'll never forget, it's forever going to be really special to me.

Plus  I discovered more about myself too. I actually changed my rating a bit, because I do think there should have been a more clear negotiation scene. It’s a dark rom com, I know Josh is considerably morally gray. I don’t know though, I do think it would have been sweet to include it though, it would have fit his character.

A few of the quotes I loved (I have so many more):
"Will you marry me so I can spend the rest of my life chasing you?"

"It wasn’t that I didn’t think I was worthy of love; I just couldn’t believe I’d gotten so lucky that she was the one who loved me."

"He made me feel alive. He’d dragged me out of the gray world I’d been living in and taught me how to see colors again."
