This book was low-key absurd. The idea was promising, if unoriginal, but the execution was lacking. VERY lacking. Poor, repetitive writing mixed with increasingly bonkers choices being made by the characters, and nutty reveals just really did not pan out for me. There were many times I found myself noticing plot points that weren't adding up, or really off turns off phrase. Like, was this edited at all? The whole thing felt sloppy. And the ending made me snort. Look, I don't mind an unrealistic book. I loved The Only One Left by this author, which is also crazy. But this was crazy and also just not well done. Nothing about it really sold it for me. I'm bummed, but honestly even though it was kinda bad, I at least was often amused.  Maybe not for the reasons the author would've hoped for though.
