Theoretically Straight by Alexander C. Eberhart, Amy Bailey

5.0

I have so much to say about this book, but I’ll try to keep it short. While this book did take me a little bit to REALLY get into, when I did. I absolutely enjoyed it. It tackled some pretty serious topics while keeping the romance between Theo and Caleb sweet, cute and so fucking endearing too.

This whole premise of being a christian and struggling with coming into your queerness hit very close to home and I almost did tear up a bit many times, especially with the conversations Theo was having with his mom, those warmed my heart and broke my heart simultaneously.

I absolutely LOVED the found family and how Caleb and Theo’s friend group’s blended together perfectly. I loved how all of them had each other’s backs no matter what it made me incredibly happy and wish I had the same type of support system Theo had. I LOVED LOVED LOVED Grace, I saw so much of her in myself.

Overall this book was very quick, covered many topics that really needs to be discussed in books more. I enjoyed reading the different view points on christianity. I loved how diverse this book was and the representation it had. If you’re looking for a cute queer book that covers religious themes and trans this is definitely the book for you
