What in the Scooby-doo? All that was needed was some literal unmasking and a few jinkies. Even though you knew almost immediately who the killer was after meeting him in the book, all the extra steps to get the killer back in play were something else. It wasn't a boring read. It did have me setting there saying"oh, seriously?" More often than once.
