The A.B.C. Murders by Agatha Christie

5.0

Five stars because this is probably the most satisfactory reads in the Hercule Poirot series for me. As I read more books in this series I continue to realise their connection with some or other anime that I have watched previously. This was connected to the Death Note anime, which has a sort of prequel called Death Note : LL BB case. The title is clearly telling how much in theory both books are same. The satisfactory part comes in when I get two different endings than just one because I have read both of these books ( LL BB case was a book too). The theory promises a mad-man behind everything and I get a mad-man in the Death Note narrative, plus bonus satisfaction of horror. And then comes the second ending, the Hercule Poirot ending, which will never be what you expect it to be, going so far as to put twist after twist even when you would have been okay with the way things were seeming to be coming to an end, thus successfully unsatisfactory.
Great read. Definitely recommend.
